Coronado Speed Festival 2015

Duane Norman & His Datsun 510
Coronado Speed Festival "Race at the Base"

Driving in this year's Coronado Speed Festival's "Race at the Base" was Duane Norman in his adaptive-controlled Datsun 510.  Duane is a paraplegic, and serves as President for Paralyzed Veterans of Cal-Diego Chapter as well as Director of PVA, Cal-Diego Motorsports.  Without the use of his legs and extremely limited mobility in his arms and hands, pay close attention as Duane applies the throttle by pushing down, and the brake by pushing in with his left hand.  At certain times, there are no hands touching the steering wheel as in between shifts.  This video was exposed properly for the interior, so watch the harmony of what a talented driver and adaptive-controls can do.  On this particular day, you will see a lot of passing... unfortunately not made by the #77 car.  We were working out a few issues, none-the-less, an exceptional day.
